What You’ll Learn
This qualification provides a trade outcome in wall and floor tiling for residential and commercial construction work. You'll develop core skills for the construction industry alongside specialist knowledge in surface preparation, tile selection, layout, adhesion and finishing — the full scope of what a professional tiler does on the job every day.
The construction industry requires all training to be conducted in a real or closely simulated workplace environment, and that's exactly how this course is delivered.

Delivery & Assessment Note
The construction industry requires all training and assessment to be conducted in a real or closely simulated workplace environment. All units in this course are delivered in this context. Assessment includes written questions, practical observations, projects and skills demonstrations.

DELIVERY & STRUCTURE
How You’ll Train
Hands-on and real-world — structured learning with classroom, workshop and practical assessment
Specialist Trade Trainers
Trained by tilers with active industry backgrounds — people who understand project timelines, client expectations and real-site challenges.
Structured Study Terms
48 weeks of training and assessment across structured terms, plus 12 weeks of scheduled holidays — total 60 weeks.
Blended Delivery
Classroom theory is paired with extensive practical sessions. All units of competency are delivered and assessed in a simulated or real workplace context.
Hands-On Workshop Environment
Practice laying, cutting and finishing tiles in our North Rocks workshop, equipped with surfaces and conditions that replicate real job sites.

Assessment is competency-based and reflects real workplace expectations.

Entry Requirements
Minimum age: 18 years
Year 10 completion or equivalent
IELTS 6.0 overall (or equivalent)
LLN assessment prior to enrolment
White Card (CPCCWHS1001) before commencing site work
Pathways
Certificate IV in Building and Construction (CPC40120)
Diploma of Building and Construction — Building (CPC50220)
Trade licensing as a wall and floor tiler
Specialisation in stone, mosaic or large-format tile installation

Elective Units
