What You’ll Learn

The ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology reflects the role of individuals in a variety of ICT roles who have established specialised skills in a technical function. Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field — working independently, as part of a team, or leading a deliverable with others.

You'll develop practical, job-ready skills across key areas of IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, systems administration and project management — the skills Australian employers are actively seeking. This qualification is your foundation for a stable, well-paying career in one of the world's fastest growing industries.

Skills Across This Program

  • Matching ICT systems and needs with organisational strategy

  • Promoting and applying cybersecurity awareness and best practices

  • Applying IP, ethics and privacy policies in ICT environments

  • Managing ICT projects from initiation to delivery

  • Leading and facilitating teams within technical environments

  • Configuring, testing and troubleshooting network infrastructure

Delivery & Assessment Note

Assessment includes practical tasks, case studies, projects, portfolio evidence, virtual machine exercises and written assessments. All practical assessment is conducted in environments that simulate real ICT workplace conditions. A competent result in all 20 units is required to receive the full qualification.

How You’ll Be Assessed

Assessment is competency-based and reflects real workplace expectations.

Methods include:

• Direct observation of practical tasks
