Delivery & Assessment Note
The construction industry requires all training and assessment to be conducted in a real or closely simulated workplace environment. All units in this course are delivered in this context. Assessment includes written questions, practical observations, projects and skills demonstrations.

Entry Requirements & Pathways

Entry Requirements
Minimum age: 18 years at time of enrolment
Completion of Year 10 or equivalent (Year 11/12 preferred)
English proficiency: IELTS overall score of 6.0 (or equivalent) — no band below 5.5
Completion of a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to enrolment
Completion of CPCCWHS1001 — Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) is required before entering construction worksites
Pathways
Certificate IV in Building and Construction (CPC40120)
Diploma of Building and Construction – Building (CPC50220)
Builder/trade licensing through relevant state and territory authorities
Employment as a qualified carpenter in residential or commercial construction

Elective Units
