Delivery & Assessment Note

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18 years at time of enrolment

  • Completion of Year 10 or equivalent (Year 11/12 preferred)

  • English proficiency: IELTS overall score of 6.0 (or equivalent) — no band below 5.5

  • Completion of a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to enrolment

  • Completion of CPCCWHS1001 — Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) is required before entering construction worksites

Pathways

  • Certificate IV in Building and Construction (CPC40120)

  • Diploma of Building and Construction – Building (CPC50220)

  • Builder/trade licensing through relevant state and territory authorities

  • Employment as a qualified carpenter in residential or commercial construction

CPCCOM1012 — Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry (prerequisite unit)

CPCCWHS2001 — Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry

CPCCCM2008 — Read and interpret plans, specifications and drawings

CPCCCA2002 — Use carpentry tools and equipment

CPCCCA3001 — Install flooring systems

CPCCCA3002 — Install wall frames and roof frames

CPCCCA3007 — Construct pitched roofs

CPCCCA3014 — Construct and install doors, windows and hardware

CPCCCA3019 — Carry out setting out

Elective Units
